Suddenly my belts have become useful. As my pants seem to ‘grow’ (not very often we get to say that:), the number of holes used on my belt grows also! It dawned on me about what a perfect gage this was for my weight loss :() As my pants ‘pucker’, my belt tightens, the better I feel.
So here’s a picture of my favorite belt. I made this belt (not the buckle) in 1982 while stationed in Seoul, Korea! I had just ‘discovered’ country music (in small country bars – stories best left untold ;) (who the heck discovers country music in Korea???) so I was influenced to design this western style belt. The designs were ‘punched out’ with tools in the shop they had on post. It has traveled with me ever since. It’s been well-used, hung in the back of closets, brought out again, put back for years before coming into the light again, hopefully for a long, long time.
This is the belt that I wear every day and each time I put it on and pass each hole it just puts a smile on my face. Oooops, time to get out my trusty hole-punch again…
Actually, since I’ve been able to wear it again a few months ago, I’ve gone from the 1st hole to the 5th hole; that is 4 inches!
